In April, I became an approved trader under the Buy With Confidence Scheme, run by Trading Standards. In order to become an approved member, I underwent a series of detailed background checks, including a review of any complaints received. References are taken up from previous customers and I have to abide by the scheme's code of conduct. The scheme is run independently by local authority Trading Standards Services directly.
